A WORD FITLY SPOKEN

A man has joy8057 in giving an appropriate answer, And how good and delightful is a word

spoken at the right moment—how good it is!

Proverbs 15:23 (AMP)

It is amazing how God uses His sacrifice—plus His story that comes through One Solitary Life—to touch someone going through something totally different than you are. We can tell you that even though we are going through different trials, we can relate because we know God has been there through all we are going through. We know He can bring you through your challenges as well. While I (Susan) was in the hospital—both before and after the amputation surgery—I would share a bit of my journey with the staff. My opening line was, “I can tell what you do by the color of your scrubs, but you probably can’t guess what I do!” Most of them would have a look that said, “You do something?” In their defense, I am classified as quadriplegic and have only limited use of one arm/hand. I would explain that I am an ordained minister with a master’s degree from Oral Roberts University and President of Precious Jewels Ministries, Inc. I would then encourage them to faithfully follow God’s leading for their lives despite any obstacles or opposition that seemed to be in the way. Often nurses or care techs would leave in tears saying that was just what they needed to hear. God gave me words spoken at the right moment. What a joy it was to know that God had challenged and blessed people through my witness!

Pray God will give you the encouraging words to uplift someone else when they need it the most. God tells us in Proverbs 25:11 (KJV), “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.” Thank Him for the times he has encouraged you through appropriate words fitly spoken by a friend.

Father, may our words always build others up rather than tear them down. May our mouths be used to encourage others and praise You.
