JOY INFUSION

I pray that God, the source of all hope, will infuse your lives with an abundance of joyG5479 and

peace in the midst of your faith so that your hope will overflow through the power of the Holy

Spirit.

Romans 15:13 (VOICE)

There is no way to achieve true joy, peace, hope, and power in and of our own strength. Paul is praying that the believers in Rome depend on the power of the Holy Spirit. The Bible gives a foundation for intercessory prayer in the prayers of Paul. In the midst of my (Susan’s) battle, right after the amputation of my legs, and even now, knowing that people are persistently interceding on my behalf encourages me. My current fight is to get back into my power chair on a regular basis despite back pain that radiates to my toes that aren’t there (phantom pain is a grizzly bear). My desire is to make broader ripples touching my community, my city, and my world. Susie and I share in this desire to lead impactful Christian lives. We both still need to know that people are lifting us up in prayer for our personal needs as well as for the needs of Precious Jewels Ministries, Inc.

Do you know a brother or sister struggling with challenges or maybe even hopelessness? Pray the Lord will give them an infusion of joy and peace. Pray that the power of the Holy Spirit will not only renew their hope but cause it to continually overflow. Take every opportunity to be a joy in the lives of other believers. Encourage the “familyship” of faith by reminding them to turn to the Source of their joy, the Lord Jesus. This can be done in person or by text, email, snail-mail, FaceTime™, Facebook™, or whatever other social media you and your circle share. A simple “I prayed for you today” text may be more impactful than you can imagine.

Father, remind us to follow Paul’s example by interceding for others and encouraging them to lean on You.
