WEEK 52 – DAY 3

SPIRITUAL STICKY NOTES

Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me. 2 Peter 1:13-14

Peter’s letters, as with all of God’s word, serve as sticky notes, reminding us who we are, whose we are, and how we are to live. Right up until he left his earth-suit behind and his spirit joined Jesus in Heaven, Peter stirred other believers to live godly lives bringing honor and glory to the Lord Jesus. Through his two letters in the New Testament, Peter continues to give the encouragement we need.

We as believers have the responsibility and privilege to invigorate and encourage each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs (Ephesians 5:19) We must use God’s word to stir one another and remind ourselves to Whom we belong. We might even utilize actual sticky-notes! Place a scripture or encouraging word in your child’s lunch box or your spouse’s briefcase. Another avenue of encouragement could be social media. We recently challenged our friends to turn their Facebook page into “Faith-book” pages by sharing scripture, personal testimonies, or other uplifting words.

Lord Jesus, help us follow the example of the Apostles Peter and Paul by seizing opportunities to encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ. Show us creative ways to leave spiritual sticky notes for others to discover. Thank You for providing Your love letter to us, the Bible, to show us Your love, Your will, and Your ways.
